There is a lot to do and see in our neighborhood and Midtown Atlanta. How lucky we are to live in Ansley Park! However, we thought it might be nice to take things down a notch with an introduction to mindfulness meditation.

Mindfulness is “being in the Present Moment, with openness, curiosity and the willingness to be with what is.” Mindfulness is being aware of our thoughts, actions, reactions, experiences and having tools that can enrich the quality of our lives, help us discern more clearly, improve our relationships and overall well-being.

This session is open to anyone with an interest in or curiosity about meditation. It will be led by Ana Maria Lagasca. She will lay out the basic principles of mindfulness, facilitate mindfulness & meditation practices & support you in applying the principles to your daily life. The goal is also to help you build resources within yourself to minimize feelings of stress, thought overload and meet each day with joy & wise awareness.

Ana Maria has a Mindfulness Facilitation Certification from the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and has been facilitating meditation sessions at various nearby universities. She has also been teaching yoga for the last 17 years. Read more about her background and practice: www.MindfulWellnessGuide.com

Note: Registration costs $15 for APCA members and $20 for non-members. You MUST log into the website in order to register for events at the APCA Member reduced rate.  If you have questions, contact specialevents@ansleypark.org.
